Day 29: Daily Democracy Challenge (17 Days 'til Election)

TODAY is the Women's March to resist a new supreme court justice before we elect a new president. Find your local march here: https://map.womensmarch.com/?eventType=oct-17-march

But we can't only resist the appointment of a new justice who is sympathetic to overturning Roe v. Wade and eliminating federal protections for abortion. We need to also plan for what we will do if Roe v. Wade gets overturned... and this article from The 19th* lays it bare: Democrats call statehouse races ‘the last line of defense’ for abortion rights

If abortion is no longer federally protected, it will be left up to state legislatures to decide whether abortion can continue in each state. The only way abortion will remain legal in Texas in the absence of Roe v. Wade is if we elect more Democrats to our state legislature, periodt.

That's why it's important to volunteer with Planned Parenthood to help get out the vote for their endorsed candidates in Texas: https://www.facebook.com/PPTexasVotes/events/?ref=page_internal

And it's why we really want you to come to our series finale of "In the House" this coming Wednesday at 6:30pm CT, in partnership with Swing Left!  We will be supporting 4 amazing Texas House candidates:

Akilah Bacy
Joanna Cattanach
Brandy Chambers
and Jennifer Skidonenko
